Spa Helios’ state-of-the-art lasers and light
therapy systems were chosen for our facility based on patient safety and comfort,
efficacy of treatment, and the specific application of the equipment. We do not
have a “one
size fits all” program, but rather multiple pieces of equipment to address
specific aesthetic concerns. We have three lasers with wavelengths varying from
595nm to 1065nm, a Concentrated Light Therapy (C.L.) system, and an Intense
Pulse Light (IPL) with a wavelength range of 390nm to 1200nm.
Our equipment enables our medical staff the ability to provide
a variety of laser and light therapies for facial rejuvenation, hair removal,
pigmented lesions or age spots, and vascular lesions such as small spider veins
on both light and dark skin patients.
 IPL Therapy (Intense Pulse Light)
IPL uses very bright light flashes with specific wavelengths
to treat a variety of skin conditions. At Spa Helios the Alderm MedFlash is used
most frequently to treat pigment imperfections such as sun spots, age spots,
and sun damaged skin but can also be used for treating acne conditions. IPL assists
in pore size reduction, collagen production, and minimizing the appearance of
fine lines and wrinkles in addition to drawing pigment to the surface to be exfoliated.
Laser Facial Rejuvenation
The lasers in use at Spa Helios address a variety of skin
conditions such as sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmented lesions, rosacea,
acne, dialated capillaries, and some scarring. Utilizing either Pulse Dye Laser
technology or the Nd:Yag laser, these treatments penetrate deep in the skin,
stimulating collagen and elastin production to improve the skin’s
tone and texture, giving an overall improved appearance.
Laser Vein Therapy
We can treat most any facial or leg vein, except bulging
varicose veins. The laser heats up the vessel to coagulate it, which ultimately
results in the vessel disappearing. This may take several treatments to get the
desired results.
Pigmented Lesion Therapy
Any non-precancerous pigmented lesion can be treated with
our lasers. You can expect a darkening of the lesion immediately following the
treatment, followed by a sloughing of the darkened skin within a couple of weeks.
It may take several treatments to get the desired results.
Laser Hair Removal
Spa Helios offers FDA approved lasers for permanent hair
reduction for all skin types. The Apogee Elite contains two laser systems – 755nm
Alexandrite laser and the high powered 1064 Nd:Yag laser – in one unit.
The system emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin, to the
hair follicle, where it is absorbed. Upon absorption, the energy is transformed
into heat, which can disable the follicle, while leaving the surrounding tissue
unharmed. Spa Helios has an added cooling mechanism to assist with patient comfort
during treatment that no other clinic offers in Northern Nevada.
TriActive™ Laser Dermology
This remarkable therapy helps reduce the appearance of cellulite
using Cynosure’s newest deep-dermal massaging TriActive™ laser. It offers
an effective, FDA-approved way to significantly reduce the appearance of cellulite,
and enhance overall body contouring. In combination with proper diet and adequate
exercise, this treatment is effective by itself but when combined with LipoDissolve
injections it provides faster, more long lasting results.
